Vertum's foundation was laid by our three original partners: Cameron Whiteman, Alex Hall, and Sarah Kapnick. During the first few years, we met as a team of equals leveraging the science expertise and business experience of each. During this time Vertum Partners remained small, with no debt and modest profits each quarter.
In 2013, we reached a critical point with Department of Energy funding and customer contracts that are sufficient for Vertum to enter a new phase of commercial growth. At this point, Alex Hall and Sarah Kapnick resigned from operational involvement. Subsequently, Dr. Hall and Dr. Kapnick have withdrawn from the partnership to focus on their important research.
Cameron Whiteman continues to lead the company's growth.
